Desander Plant and mud dewatering centrifuge for China Engineering Company

As Chinese new year holiday is coming in Feb. 2021. Only 1 month left. New Year is the most important big day for all Chinese people. It will cause at least 3 weeks delay on manufacturing schedule. Everything will be very slow during the whole Feb. Although it is deeper winter in China, the weather is frozen and cold. In order to not delay clients projects and delivery orders on time, all workers of GN Solids Control are working hard. Below are some of the orders will be delivered this week.

1) Mud recovery system GNMS-1000D and GNMS-500D. GNMS-1000D is a desanding plant C/W double deck shale shaker and 2×10inchdesander cleaner with capacity 1000GPM for piling and micro tunneling projects. The GNMS-500D is a desanding plant C/W double deck shale shaker and 1×10inch desander cleaner with capacity 500GPM for piling and micro tunneling projects. The layout of GNMS-1000D and GNMS-500D are very similar.

2) Mud dewatering centrifuge GNLW554E-VFD. It is a 18 inch big bowl decanter centrifuge mainly used for dewatering treatment and oil slurry. Clients can choose VFD control or FHD control for the centrifuge. It is normally used together with chemical dosing unit.

3) Slurry mixing and storage tank system with a separate Jet mud mixing device. It is a 3-tank mud mixing and storage system. The mixing is ready for shipment. The mixing unit is complete with a separate jet mud mixing unit. Each tank is equipped with 2 mud agitator. All mud tanks are connected for mud transfer between each other. Each mud tank is the same length and width 20ft ISO sea freight containers. And each corner of the tank are equipped with container locking device.

Clients can also choose 40ft container size mud tank. It is easy for inland shipment. For international sea freight, GN Solids Control will make a smaller size mud tank for loading into containers.

Centrifugal pump for drilling mud solids control system

GNSB Series Centrifugal pump is a very common device used at drilling mud solids control system. GNSB Series Centrifugal pump can be used for oil field drilling mud system, HDD and CBM drilling mud recycling system, piling and micro tunneling desanding plant. GN Solids Control makes and supply centrifugal pump for solids control system. There is a wide range of applications of centrifugal pump in various applications drilling mud system. Below are some of the applications we normal use.

1. GNSB Series Centrifugal pump can be used as trip pump in the trip tank of the oil and gas drilling mud system. Trip tank is normally the first tank compartment inside drilling mud solids control system. The tank volume of trip tank is not big. It can be a separate smaller size tank other other tanks in the solids control system. It can also a compartment divided from shale shaker tank. Centrifugal pump size 3×2 or 4×3 are mostly used as trip tank trip pump.

2. GNSB Series Centrifugal pump can be used as feed pump for desander, desilter, mud cleaner. The pump transfer capacity should be matching the handling capacity of desander, desilter and mud cleaner. It can be a little big higher than the separation equipment, but it cannot be too much high. And the centrifugal pump transfer capacity cannot be lower than the separation equipment.

3. GNSB Series Centrifugal pump can be used as mixing pump of jet mud mixer and mixing unit. While add a T-pipe at the outlet of the mixing pump, the same pump can also be used as transfer pump.

4. GNSB Series Centrifugal pump can be used as transfer pump to transfer drilling mud or other slurries from one tank to another, or from one location to another.

5. GNSB Series Centrifugal pump can be used as suction or supercharging pump for drilling rig mud pump.

Skid Mounted Mud Solid Control System

GN Solids Control is focusing on the full package of drilling mud processing system. As GN Solids Control makes full line drilling mud processing equipment. They know well about the equipment. GN Solids Control can offer professional proposal of drilling mud treatment system and mud mixing unit. All processing equipment and the tank volume should be match to each other.

For example, if the total shale capacity is max. 160m3/4 or 200m3/h, but the desilter and desilter capacity is 240m3/h. And feeding centrifugal pump and mixing pump are 55kw or above. The system is not reasonable. As the 1rst stage separation equipment, the shale shaker capacity should be bigger than the next step separation equipment. Otherwise, if the mud flow is big, the shale shaker will overflow. Or if the mud flow is small for the shale shaker to handle, but the desander and desilter pump are too big, it will cause pump suction air. And the hydrocyclone separation performance is not good in condition the feed flow is too small. The client need to increase shale shaker capacity, or decrease pump and mud cleaner capacity to suit for the mud pump capacity.

Every jobsite is different. Every client has his preferable. In order to offer a suitable mud system design to suit for the job site situation, as well as client’s special requirements. Below are some questions to let GN Solids Control knows more about clients request.

1) what is the rig horse power of the system for, or what is the mud pump horse power or capacity? The whole mud system handle capacity should suit to the mud pump capacity.
2) What is the total tank volume the client prefer?
3) How many tanks the client prefer?
4) What is the max. Tank size (L × W × H) the client can accept to suit for their local shipping regulations?
5) What processing equipment they prefer to equip inside the system? Shale shaker, mud cleaner, desilter, desilter, mud cleaner, vacuum degasser, decanter centrifuge, etc..Which processing equipment they want?
6) What is the Voltage and hz for the mud system?
7) What is the explosion proof standard, CNEX, ATEX, or international IECEx standard?

GN 9 inch mini size high speed decanter centrifuge

GN Solids Control makes various sizes and types of decanter centrifuge for various applications. GN Solids Control various types of decanter centrifuge is designed for the drilling mud solids control and oilfield waste management. GN Solids Control VFD drive decanter centrifuge with variable speed allows drilling contractor or mud service companies to do the barite recovery, fine fine and ultra fine solids separation, dewatering centrifuge.

Two Sets Drilling Waste Management Equipment Package for Africa 

Recently 2 sets of drilling waste management equipment are ready for shipment. They are customized for an Africa project. The drilling waste management equipment will be used to treat oil base mud and oil base drilling cuttings which generated from oil and gas drilling field. All equipment inside the waste management system are customized with client appointed color.

The 2 sets of drilling waste management equipment including following items:
1) Vertical cuttings dryer. Quantity: 2 sets. Model: GNCD930.
Vertical cuttings dryer is also called as vertical centrifuge. It is the major processing equipment to treat oil base mud and oil base cuttings. Vertical cuttings dryer can separate oil on the cuttings to 3% ~ 5%. Before vertical cuttings dryer treatment, the oil on the cuttings is around 10% ~ 20%. It means the vertical cuttings can recover more usable drilling mud with oil, which is valuable. More recovered oil means save more cost for clients. And further more, more recovered fluids means less wastes generated from the process. It can also save the cost of hazardous material shipment.

2) High speed decanter centrifuge. Quantity: 2 sets. Model: GNLW363C-VFD
GNLW363C-VFD is a 14inch high speed decanter centrifuge. It is the most popular size decanter centrifuge used for drilling mud solids control system and drilling waste management system. The typical speed of GNLW363 is 3200RPM. In some projects, clients want high speed decanter centrifuge over 3200RPM, GN Solids Control can also offer. The max. Typical speed of GNLW363 can up to 3600RPM. GN Solids Control can offer fixed speed control for 14inch decanter centrifuge for easy operation. GN Solids Control can also offer VFD control and FHD control for the 14 inch decanter centrifuge.

3) Screw conveyor. 4 sets. Each vertical cuttings dryer will use 2 screw conveyors. One screw conveyor is used to feed cuttings to vertical cuttings dryer. Another screw conveyor is used to transfer the discharged solids from vertical cuttings dryer.

GN oil sludge treatment and Oil Base Mud and Drill Cuttings Treatment unit

Oil sludge treatment, oil base mud and drill cuttings treatment is the major product made by GN Solids Control. Some clients do not know the difference of Oil sludge treatment system and oil base cuttings treatment system. They want to know the difference and know how to choose the right separation equipment.

Normally for OBM cuttings treatment, clients will separate cuttings and recover usable drilling fluids, and sell the drilling fluids. It is 2-phase separation. While for oil sludge treatment, clients will separate oil, water and solids. They do 3-phase separation.

Below are some general information to let clients know more about the different and about the equipment choosing.

1) As 3-phase centrifuge can only allow slurry with max. 10% solids content and particle size less than 2mm, 2-phase decanter centrifuge is must to be used before 3-phase separation to reduce the mud weight and solids percentage. After 2-phase centrifuge separation, the oil, water and soil mixture slurry flow into 3-phase decanter centrifuge to get oil, water and soil.

2) In order to remove as more ultra fine solids as possible, chemical dosing unit will be used together with decanter centrifuges for dewantering flocculation treatment. We quote you the 3-tank antomatic chemical dosing unit. It is used for powder chemicals. If you will use liquid chemical, pls tell me to revise the quotation.

3) Per our communication on Whatsapp. The pre-separation equipment for OBM cuttings and oil sludge is different. For pure OBM cuttings from shale shaker and mud cleaner, Vertical cuttings dryer is better. It can reduce the oil on the cuttings to 3% ~ 5%. It can remove more usable liquid. And the solids discharge is very dry.

But vertical cuttings dryer cannot be used to treat the soil sludge discharged from centrifuge. As its screen basket opening is 0.5mm, 0.35mm and min. 0.25mm. The soil cake from centrifuge is very fine and will all pass the screen opening.

4) Oil sludge is normally the mixture from different application, like drilling mud, drilling cuttings, soil cake from centrifuge separation, tank bottom slurry, slope oil, refinery waste oil slurry, industry waste oil, etc… The solids size and solids content is more complex. In this case, high G drying shaker is used for pre-seperation. And as the oil slurry is more complex, sometime, need to dilute and heating the sludge before separation. The solids waste discharge from High G drying shaker is with higher oil on the cuttings after separation. For example, before treatment the sludge with 15~20% oil content. After high G drying shaker, maybe around 10~15%, or even higher if the sludge with high viscosity and density.

Oil sludge separation treatment system used at oil field in China

GN Solids Control has an oil sludge treatment system which is used at Qinghai Oilfield in China. The system is used since May 2018 till now. It is a customized oil sludge waste reduction system. Clients are happy with its performance.

Many clients are showed great interest on the system, below is some information of the system to let people know more.

1.The system is used since May 2018 till now, the location is Qinghai Oilfield in China.

2.The liquid content of the raw material oil sludge is 70% – 80%.

3.There is a pre-mixing and heating modular in the oil sludge separation system. Oil sludge will be heated up to 60C degree, during the heating process, chemicals will be enhanced into the process procedure to help for separation. The chemical enhancing is based on the material situation. If the material is easy for separation, heating and chemical dosing may be not needed. It depends on the separation result.

4.There is a double deck drying shale shaker in the customized system for pre-separation. After shale shaker, there is a desander separator.

5.After desander mud cleaner, it is decanter centrifuge separation by an 18inch big bowl centrifuge. There are 2 sets GNLW453C-VFD centrifuge for ultra fine solids separation.

6.There are 2 types of sludge vacuum pump for sludge and slurry transfer in the system: GNSP20B and GNSP40B.

7.The system for the client is 2-phase separation. After separation, clients get clean oil slurry with small percentage ultra fine soil. The oil slurry recovered from GN oil sludge system will be further treated by slurry separation system to get oil and water. The final solid waste is taken to third party the biodegradation and pyrolysis company for processing.

Big Bowl Decanter Centrifuge sold for Oil Sludge Treatment Client

Big bowl decanter centrifuge is a major separation equipment for oil sludge treatment. GN Solids Control makes high quality composite frame pretension screen. The screen internal is supported with metal frame for reinforce. The screen external are covered by special material plastic which contains fiber glass for durable at high temperature. The external plastic is made from hot press by hot press machine. And In many countries like in China, there are some companies who can do the recycling of the composite frames made by PP (polypropylene) and metal.
