There are rubber ring for sealing on most shaker screen model, like Derrick503 screen, Derrick48-30 shaker screen, Brandt Cobra shaker screen, GN Solids shaker screen, and many other shaker screen models.

Functions of the sealing rubber:

1) Sealing between screens and shaker deck. To avoid un-treated dirty mud seep into mud system, and damage the mud system machine.

2) To reduce the bad effect of vibrating to the shaker screen. Protect screen from strong vibrating.

What will happen if the sealing rubber not workable

1) The screen frame will touch directly with shaker deck, and damaged within a very short time

2) The worst result is, if the screen rubber damaged, the dirty mud from well head will flow into mud system directly with much solids. It requires a higher capacity on downstream equipment processing, or even make damage to the downstream machine, like desander, desilter or vacuum degasser

If the material of the sealing rubber not strong enough and not very good at anti-corrosive, the high temperature drilling mud with heavy sand will damage the rubber very soon. The shaker screen will be broken very soon. Dirty mud flow into the mud system from the shale shaker deck with heavy sand and solids. It will have bad effect to the mud system.

GN 20 foot containerized dewatering unit including all the components for adding chemicals, dewatering polymers,and mixing systems. The dewatering unit control system is organized by the PLC system to allow automatically operation. The customter mostly use the dewatering unit for water based mud.The result is a polymer-enhanced flocculation of colloidal and ultra-fine drilled solids that can be efficiently removed by a GN high Speed decanter centrifuge.

The customer can choose to have the decanter centrifuge on a separate skid or included in the dewatering unit container, in such case the container should be 40 foot size to have enough space for setting up the centrifuges and the feeding pumps.

The Dewatering unit application at the well allowed reduction of the liquid-waste volume by 32% for the first two sections and by 27% for the entire well. Around 350 m3 of water was returned to the system for fresh drilling fluid mixing thus reducing the cost of water delivery. All drilling fluid left after the last section was also processed through the Dewatering unit and the returned water was used for completion operations. Although application of the Dewatering unit added additional upfront cost to the well construction, the waste-volume reduction allowed a 20% waste disposal saving as compared to offset wells. Working procedure of  Pile Bentonite recycling Desander

1）  A pit slurry pump suck fluids from the foundation slurry pit and feed to the GNZS703D-1S Desander Bottom Shaker.

2）  The first phase cleaning is processed by the bottom shaker deck of GNZS703D Shaker, and the cleaning fluids drops down to the mud tank.The solids up to 0.5mm will be separated out.

3）  A GNSB6x5-12J Slurry pump suck Bentonite fluids from the mud tank, and feed to the ten inch desander cyclone, and solids drops down to the up deck shaker for drying, and the clean fluids goes to the second compartment of the mud tank.The solids up to 50 microns will be separated out.

Principle of decanter centrifuge separation

Different solid or particle have different density and flow speed, Drilling Mud decanter centrifuge adopts centrifugal force to separate solids / particles out of drilling fluid. Drilling mud decanter centrifuge also can separate particles with different size and density.

Drilling fluids enter the bowl through the inlet tube. It is accelerated smoothly by an inlet rotor. The generated drilling mud decanter centrifuge forces make the solids collected on the wall of the bowl. The conveyor and the bowl rotate in the same direction, but at different speeds, which caused a differential speed, and enable the solids moving towards the conical end of the bowl for removal.
