GN SOLIDS CONTROL Provides Reliable VFD Decanter Centrifuge Solutions for Harsh Drilling Environments

In modern oil and gas drilling operations, reliable solids control equipment plays a critical role in maintaining drilling fluid performance and improving overall operational efficiency. As a professional manufacturer of solids control and drilling waste management equipment, GN SOLIDS CONTROL continues to provide advanced decanter centrifuge solutions for demanding drilling projects worldwide.

GN SOLIDS CONTROL’s VFD decanter centrifuge system is designed with three independent Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controls, including one for the main drive motor, one for the back drive motor, and one for the feeding pump. This intelligent design allows operators to accurately adjust centrifuge performance according to different drilling conditions. In addition, the feeding pump can use a fixed-speed screw pump, simplifying the system configuration while maintaining stable operation.

To ensure safe and reliable performance, GN’s VFD centrifuge system includes interlock logic control between the centrifuge and pump control system. This integrated protection function helps prevent overload conditions and improves equipment safety during continuous operation in challenging drilling environments.

For the 14-inch decanter centrifuge positive pressurized VFD control panel, GN SOLIDS CONTROL offers two cooling options: air conditioning cooling and vortex tube cooling. Both systems can maintain the internal cabinet temperature at approximately 25°C to 30°C, providing effective protection for electrical components inside the VFD cabinet.

For high-temperature regions such as Middle East countries, GN SOLIDS CONTROL strongly recommends the air conditioning cooling system. Although the initial investment is higher, the A/C cooling system offers important advantages including air filtration and dehumidification functions. These features help protect internal electrical components from dust, moisture, and corrosion, which are common challenges in desert drilling environments.

Compared with vortex tube cooling systems that require a bigger volume air intake compared with the A/C cooling system, significantly reducing the risk of moisture entering the cabinet.

With reliable design, durable performance, and practical engineering solutions, GN SOLIDS CONTROL continues to deliver high-quality solids control and drilling waste management equipment for global drilling contractors and oilfield service companies.

GN Solids Control shale shaker for onshore and offshore drilling

In both land drilling and offshore drilling projects, efficient solids control equipment is essential for maintaining drilling fluid performance and reducing waste. As a professional manufacturer, GN Solids Control provides a full range of equipment for complete drilling fluid processing, including shale shaker for onshore and offshore, mud cleaner, decanter centrifuge, and complete mud system solutions.

The shale shaker for onshore and offshore is the first-stage equipment in the solids control process. It plays a key role in separating large drill cuttings from drilling mud and protecting downstream equipment. Depending on project requirements, operators can choose a single deck shale shaker for standard drilling applications or a duble deck shale shaker for higher processing capacity and finer screening performance. GN Solids Control offers both options to suit different rig layouts, drilling depths, and mud handling demands.

A single deck shale shaker GN Solids Conrol solution is often preferred for projects that require simple structure, reliable operation, and easy maintenance. For more demanding working conditions, the duble deck shale shaker can provide larger screen area in a compact footprint, which is especially useful for rigs where space is limited but performance requirements are high.

In addition to shale shakers, GN also manufactures high-performance mud cleaner units that combine desander cones, desilter cones, and bottom shaker screens into one compact unit. This improves solids separation efficiency and reduces the footprint of the mud system. For finer solids removal, the decanter centrifuge is widely used to separate ultra-fine particles and recover valuable drilling fluid, helping operators lower fluid cost and meet environmental requirements.

As a full-package manufacturer, GN Solids Control can supply complete mud system solutions for oil and gas drilling, HDD, CBM, geothermal, and offshore projects. With strong manufacturing capability, practical field experience, and global project references, GN continues to support drilling contractors and service companies with dependable solids control equipment and customized system solutions.

2 Sets 1000GPM HDD mud cleaning system for Australia Customer

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a widely used trenchless construction method for installing underground pipelines, cables, and utilities with minimal disturbance to the surface. This technology is especially advantageous in urban areas, river crossings, road crossings, and environmentally sensitive zones. During HDD operations, drilling mud plays a critical role by lubricating the drill bit, stabilizing the borehole, suspending and transporting drilled cuttings, and maintaining overall drilling efficiency. Effective management and recycling of drilling mud are therefore essential to ensure safe, economical, and environmentally responsible HDD operations.

An HDD mud recycling system significantly enhances operational efficiency and sustainability by continuously cleaning and reusing drilling fluid. Through a combination of solids control separation equipment—such as shale shakers, desanders, desilters, mud cleaners, and mud tanks—the system removes drilled solids of various particle sizes while maintaining optimal mud properties, including viscosity and density. This process reduces fresh water and chemical consumption, minimizes waste disposal volumes, lowers overall project costs, and helps prevent environmental contamination. As a result, a reliable mud recycling system is a critical component of modern HDD projects.
