GN SOLIDS CONTROL’s VFD decanter centrifuge system is designed with three independent Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controls, including one for the main drive motor, one for the back drive motor, and one for the feeding pump. In addition, the feeding pump can use a fixed-speed screw pump, simplifying the system configuration while maintaining stable operation.
To ensure safe and reliable performance, GN’s VFD centrifuge system includes interlock logic control between the centrifuge and pump control system. This integrated protection function helps prevent overload conditions and improves equipment safety during continuous operation in challenging drilling environments.
For the 14-inch decanter centrifuge positive pressurized VFD control panel, GN SOLIDS CONTROL offers two cooling options: air conditioning cooling and vortex tube cooling. Both systems can maintain the internal cabinet temperature at approximately 25°C to 30°C, providing effective protection for electrical components inside the VFD cabinet.
For high-temperature regions such as Middle East countries, GN SOLIDS CONTROL strongly recommends the air conditioning cooling system. Although the initial investment is higher, the A/C cooling system offers important advantages including air filtration and dehumidification functions. These features help protect internal electrical components from dust, moisture, and corrosion, which are common challenges in desert drilling environments.
Compared with vortex tube cooling systems that require a bigger volume air intake compared with the A/C cooling system, significantly reducing the risk of moisture entering the cabinet.
