GN Solids Control offers professional proposal for various kinds of oily sludge separation application in oil field. The oil sludge includes oily waste from tank cleaning, from drilling mud system, from waste pits, from crude oil storage tank, from refinery, and so on.

Oil sludge is a mixture waste which is consisting of oil, water and solids, soil. The treatment of the oil sludge wastes is normally to recover as much oil and water for reuse, and reduce the solids waste. And some times, it will request 3 phase separation of oil, waste and soil. Also it is an ideal solution to for the solids disposal. It is also good for environment protection. If more oil and water recovered, more energy and resource could be saved. And the waste material is reduced.

GN oil sludge treatment plant mainly include shale shaker separation and decanter centrifuge separation, oil water separators and waste waster water treatment unit.

There are generally 3 solutions of oil sludge treatment, in order of separation effect and the investment, the 3 solutions is as following:

Option 1 Shaker modular + 2 phase centrifuge centrifuge modular: If the customer only requires solid-liquid separation, and does not require oil-water separation, use shale shaker separation with 2-phase centrifuge centrifuge.

Option 2 Shaker modular + 3 phase centrifuge centrifuge modular:
If the customer requires three-phase separation of oil, water, and slag, but the requirements for three-phase separation are not high, use shale shaker separation, and 3-phase decanter centrifuge.

Option 3 Shaker modular + 3 phase centrifuge centrifuge modular + 3 phase disc centrifuge modular:
If the customer requires three-phase separation of oil, water, and slag, and the requirements for three-phase separation are relatively high. Use shale shake separation, 2-phase decanter centrifuge, and three-phase disc centrifuge. The advantage of a three-phase disc centrifuge is that it can get clean water and oil, but the disadvantage is that it is easy to block.And the cost is higher.

Centrifugal pump is mainly used for drilling mud transfer and water transfer. It is also called as sand pump. It is the most popular transfer equipment in drilling mud solids control system. Centrifugal pump is used as feed pump for mud cleaner, desander and desilter. It is used as suction tank for mud pump. Centrifugal pump is used as transfer pump between tanks. Centrifugal pump is also used as mixing pump for mixing hopper and shearing hopper.

Slurry pump can transfer bigger size solids and bigger percentage slurry compared with centrifugal pump. GN Solids Control makes horizontal slurry pump and vertical slurry pump. The big size slurry pump is normally used to feeding for shale shakers. The small size slurry pump can be used to feed for decanter centrifuge.

1. The vacuum screen shaker. It is the combination of vacuum unit and shale shakers. The vacuum screen unit package can be used to replace the combination of solids control shale shaker plus drying shaker. Compared with drying shaker, GN vacuum screen unit is much less footprint, less maintenance. And plus, clients can save big cost on drying shaker screen consumption.

2. Decanter centrifuge. It is wide used for liquid and solids separation in drilling mud system, dewater system, slurry separation system, waste water treatment, etc… Many clients showed interests on it. It is the most hot sale production of GN.

4. Replacement shaker screen for drilling fluids shale shakers

GN Solids Control will ask for pictures and / or videos of the raw waste sludge to design and implement the different phases of clients’ project for the waste management coming from the Oil & Gas sector.

GN Solids Control offers 2-phase separation and 3-phase separation treatment on oil base mud (OBM), oil sludge treatment solution, tank cleaning, vessel cleaning, etc…

The 2-phase separation treatment: It is for liquid and solids separation. Most clients only need to reduce the solids waste and recover the usable drilling fluids for reuse. In this situation, they will choose 2-phase separation system.
It is more popular and the process is relative easier. Oil base mud and water base mud is used for different drilling sections. The separation equipment for OBM and WBM is different. The major separation equipment for OBM cuttings is vertical cuttings dryer. It can reduce the oil on cuttings to 5% and less.

If for water base mud, high G drying shaker is used to reduce the liquid content.

After vertical cuttings dryer and High H drying shaker, decanter centrifuge is used to remove the fine solids in the recovered fluids which comes from cuttings dryer with high content fine solids content. The purpose of the centrifuge application is to reduce the mud weight to make it suit for reused. After high speed centrifuge separation, the fluids will go back to solids control mud system for drilling activities. Some time, will use chemical dosing system for flocculation.

Another option is more complex, it is 3 phase separation: it means the separation of solids, water and oil. GN Solids Control have both 2-phase and 3-phase centrifuge. 3-phase centrifuge can only allow slurry with less than 3% solids contend. In this case, clients have to use 2-phase centrifuge before 3-phase centrifuge. But while treating the sludge with less ultra fine particles, clients can use 3-phase decanter centrifuge or disc centrifuge to separate oil and water.

GN Solids Control Sludge Vacuum Pump is widely used for oil and gas drilling. There are many functions of the pump whiled used for different applications.

The GN Solids Control sludge vacuum pump can be used to carry drilling waste and drilling cuttings from drilling mud system, and transfer to trucks or other separation device. As the vacuum pump is high pressure for suction and discharge, it is normally used together with drilling waste distributor stations for buffering and for discharge to next step process stage.

In the field of mud cleaning, as the tank size is huge in some cases, or the slurry is hazardous, which is not suits for human operation by entering the internal tank, GN Solids Control vacuum pump can be used to suck the hazardous waste from the huge tank, and transfer to the tank cleaning slurry waste treatment system. While choose the Auto-control function, the vacuum pump will be suck material at the setup time, while the suck time is over, the vacuum device will then discharge at the setup time. The Auto-control is mainly used while it is used as a transfer device.

The manual control function is mainly used for vacuum cleaner. When the pump is power on, it can suck wastes, when the tank is full, as when operators want to discharge the waste, he presses the discharge bottom to empty the vacuum pump tank.

Shaker screen is the most common and important wearing spares of shale shaker separator, such as solids control shale shaker, drilling waste drying shaker, comboned type shale shaker with desander and/or desilter, coarse shale shaker, etc…

In many cases, clients are looking for replacement screens to suit for their shale shakers purchased from various companies. But many clients many wonder that, every company have their own screen part no., they do not know how can they make sure that, the quoted screens can suit for their shakers and applications.

API RP13C is an internal standard for replacement screen manufacturing, labeling and packing. If the Screens are made per API RP13C, it proves that that the same API size from different makers are fully interchangeable. This is the root reason that all major screen users requested screens must be complied with API RP13C.

GN Solids Control makes various models replacement shaker screens which are all complied with API RP13C. Some companies said they have API RP 13C testing report, but it only cover a few API size. The reason is that, the qualified third party lab will test the samples offered by the manufacturer.

Sometimes, manufacture will have to provide more than 1 screen samples in order to get a certain API size. This should be the reason that, some OEM screen manufacturer have more than 1 part no, for the same API size: they design is for a API size, but after lab testing, the data approve it is another API size. Hence they have to adjust, and send samples again for a specified API size.

GN Solids Control has 3 safety protections to avoid the problem:

1. There a closed loop grab wire along the whole auger length. The operators can stop the auger at any position of the auger by pull the grab wire in case of any accident issue happened.

2. GN Solids Control offered fixed covers on top of the auger. The top cover material can be metal plate for good sealing, and small hole gratings for watching side to check the auger discharge.

3. The covers can be fixed at both sizes, or with hinges on one side & provision for locks and bolts on the other side. It is for fast open and close. And plus, it can avoid the missing of the cover at job site.

4. And plus, in case of the auger top cover can be opened unexpectedly, or un-locked well, the auger will be auto-stop for protection.

5. GN Solids Control equips Audio / visual alarm on auger starter control panel, which is located near the auger. The Audio & visual alarm which will be automatically activated once the power is switched on followed by the actual auger start-up with a safety delay time. Audio / Visual Alarm to be in the OFF mode after some time once the auger starts operation.
