Double deck GNZS703D shale shaker adapt high G force (≤7.5G) and a double deck. Some users choose it as a better replacement of high G shaker. It can better dry cuttings with the 2 screen deck.

Compact mud system application.

Double deck shale shaker GNZS703D used for small mud system to make the system for compact. Usually, the bottom deck will be used as shale shaker, while the upper deck used as mud company together with desander/desilter cone assembly. the total machine takes a smaller footprint but act as 2 separated machine. And surely, the cost is much lower than a separate shale shaker and mud cleaner.

Disadvantages

Although there are many advantages, but there are also many operators they do not like double deck shale shaker, as it is not convenient to change the bottom shaker screen. It is the main problem of shaker manufacturer faced now, and need to be improved.

Betonite jet mud mixer is used to make up drilling fluid or increase total amount of the drilling fluid, change the fluid density, viscosity, and dehydration. When making up again, put the materials of drilling fluid (such as betonies and barite powder) and corresponding chemical additives (such as polymer) into the recycle tank through the jet unit. Features of GNSL series Bentonite mud mixing system

Solids control mud gun

Applicaiton of mud gun:

Inside the tank, there are always some dead corner, where mud agitator cannot effect. In this case, mud gun will be used to flashing and agitating the dead corner to avoid fluid deposition. It usually used together with mud agitator.

Mud gun is also meant to provide supplemental or primary mixing in mud tanks. It depends on the number being used and the pit size. It is best used in tank corners to keep solids from settling and a mud agitator is placed in the tank center.Mud Gun 4

How to choose the suitable mud gun:

The number of solids control mud gun depends on the size of tank. Usually mud gun installed with mud line of mud tank. According the inlet pipe size, there are 2’ mud gun and 3’ mud gun for option. According to different structure feature, there are two types of mud gun: fixed mud gun and rotary mud gun.

Design features of solids control mud gun:

A molded replaceable wear resistant polyurethane jet nozzle is used, with lift time as long as 2000 hour.

Three nozzle with 120° between each other. All tank corner can be covered by mud gun, even for fixed mud gun.

Locating the mud gun for mud recycling system:

·GN recommend to set a mud gun at every tank length simiar to tank width. Mud gun located on the middle of this length.

·Solids control mud gun inlet centerline aligh to mud tank central mud line.

The centerline of the nozzle is to be located about 6” off the tank bottom.

Screw converyor for oil recovery

For oil recovery system, it is usually use a screw conveyor with V-hopper from the start.

V-hopper above srew conveyor used to collect Cuttings and oily sludge from truck. If materials pour directly onto the screw auger from the truck, the auger may be damaged or crashed. In order to not damage the screw conveyor auger under the V-hopper, GN design some special design within the V-hoppe. Material will slow down grealy while pass a special beam and then fall into screw conveyor auger. Then it will not have damage to the auger.

The screw conveyor build under the V-hopper is used to transfer materials and cutting waste from the hopper to other screw conveyor/conveyors, and then transfered to upstream treatment equipment.VLUU L100, M100  / Samsung L100, M100

In one project, users use the sysyem to transfer drilling cuttings and industry oily sludge, The material is too much viscosity. In order to make it easy for transfer and separation, users use steamer line and hot water line for the system. In this case, GN equiped some lines of steam nozzle on each side of hopper and screw conveyor. The nozzles will be used to connected with outside steam line and hot water line. And in this case, a higher standard of sealing for the auger system required.

 

 

Drilling Cutting extractor dryer

The Drilling Cuttings EXTRACTOR Dryer receives drill cuttings from the Solids Control equipment via screw conveyor, vacuum system, and/or solids pump.Drill cuttings are fed into the centre of the feed cone and distributed evenly through feed holes by centrifugal action into the fl ighting channels between the scroll and the screen. As the drill cuttings pass through the conical screen, the solids layer becomes thinner and exposed to progressively more G-force.

The GN Vertical Cutting Extractor Dryer uses centrifugal force to dry drilled solids in oil or synthetic base fluids. A stainless steel screen bowl traps “wet” solids and accelerates them up 900RPM with G force up to 420. Liquid is forced through the screen bowl openings, while “dry” solids are extracted by the angled flights attached to the cone, which rotate slightly slower than the bowl. Tungsten carbide protects the flights from abrasive solids and ensures long operational life. This aids in maintaining a constant gap between the scroll and screen bowl, which is crucial for proper operation. GN cutting dryer has been done strict balance testing for all major rotary components to minimize vibration & noisy.

EXTRACTOR Dryer is designed to remove NADF from drill cuttings exiting the shale shaker. The dryer is capable or reducing the oil on
cuttings to < 5% and to an overall total of < 6.9% when the centrifuge waste is taken into account. Excess fl uid is recovered after centrifugation
and returned to the active system for reuse. The system is not suitable for the treatment of water based mud cuttings.

How to improve shale shaker performance

Shale shaker is the act as the first stage solids control equipment. Its performance important to the whole system. If the shale shaker can work well, it can greatly improve the lifetime of next stage equipment.

Shale shaker vibration

Vibration of the shaker basket creates G-forces which help drive shear thinning fluids such as drilling mud through the screens. Vibration also conveys solids off the screens. Most linear motion shakers operate in the range of 3 to 4 G’s to balance throughput with screen life. G-force is a function of vibration frequency (rpm) and stroke length.

But there are alway some misunderstanding on shale shaker performance, it should be avoided :

• “High-Speed” should not be equated with “high performance”.

Laboratory tests indicate that, in the normal operating range for linear motion shale shakers, lower frequency vibration and longer stroke lengths improve throughput capacity. Most linear motion shakers operate at 1200 to 1800 rpm.

• Avoid deck inclinations above 3˚.

High deck angles reduce solids conveyance and increase the risk of grinding soft or friable solids through the screens.

• Shakers are designed to accept either hookstrip or rigid frame screen panels.

Hookstrip screen panels are the most common and are usually cheaper, although cuttings wetness can be a concern due to deck curvature. Flat, rigid frame panels promote even fluid coverage, but can cost more.

• Shakers may have single or tandem screening decks. Single deck shakers offer mechanical simplicity and full access to the screening surface. Single deck shakers may be arranged to process mud sequentially as a “cascading” system to improve performance under high solids loading conditions. Tandem deck shakers offer improved processing capacity under high solids loading conditions when space is limited.

Is the most common type of shaker screen, consisting of one to three layers of screen cloth. The cloth is frequently bonded to a thin perforated metal grid plate or a plastic grid. The next figure shows the construction of a typical hookstrip shaker screen. Soft hook shaker screen

The shaker screen panel is tensioned on the shaker deck by an interlocked hookstrip and drawbar arrangement located on both sides of the shaker. Three or more tensioning bolts are used to pull each drawbar down and towards the side of the basket. This seats the screen on the shaker deck and distributes even tension along the hookstrip.

Maintenance of Drilling waste screw conveyor

Screw conveyor is the main transfer equipment used in waste management field.It also called U-shape screw conveyor.

For a continously transfer of materials, it is improtant to maintenance it in suitable way.

Below are some suggestion on drilling waste screw conveyor maintenance:

1) Befor start the waste tranfer screw conveyor, add specified gear lubricant.
2) Reducer working ambiant temperature: -40 ~ 60 ℃, if the ambient temperature too high, it is necessary to take measures to cooling it.
3) Reducer should be compatible with magnetic starter, allowing the torque range, to protect motor and gear from damage;
4) Reducer suitable for continuous operation, and allow both positive and negative to the operation;
5) If you change the motor, reducer installed position, the need to mirror swap oil, oil plugs, ventilation cap;

6) Lubricating oil must be changed regularly;

6.1) From the first time use, the geared motor should change lubrication oil after 300 hours running.
6.2) In normal circumstances, the geared motor lubricating oil should be replaced every 5000 hours running;
6.3) Per lubricating oil standard, check quality of the oil regularly;
6.4)Use the same brand lubricating oil for screw conveyor geared motor. Never mix different brands;
6.5) If there is abnormal noise or phenomena from the screw conveyor transfer, should stop in time, identify the reasons for troubleshooting, to continue to run;
6.6) If there is any quality problem of geared motor, contact with manufacturer or vendor, not dismantle.

7) Check auger and liner wear periodcally, if liner thickness ≦ 2mm, replaced it.
8) Professional operators on a regular basis (2 hours) inspection, focusing on observation of spiral run the sound, the sound occurs when abnormal operation must be stopped immediately, identify the cause and treatment before reuse.
9) Gearbox oil level checked once a week, less than the sight glass should be in place to replenish the same grade gear oil to prevent gear damage caused by lack of oil.
10) Occurred during use of the cover fastening screws loose in time, off the screws should be promptly filled, otherwise it will create a larger spiral with vibration and noise associated with, the use of security will decline.
11) Regular inspection fastened securely supporting frames fasteners degree, is strictly prohibited screw loose or peeling!
12) Important: Open the tank cover must be checked when the power is disconnected!

Pressure of Shear pump

Shear pump is used to effectively mix and hydrate material added into drilling fluid. With large capacity, high lift, and long reliable service life, the shear pump can speed up dilution and hydration of polymers to have property mud.

See from GN shear pump performance chart, the maximal pressure of shear pump is 47m (H2O), namely 0.47MPa. It means once the output pipe of shear pump has been blocked, the maximal pressure of output pipe is 0.47Mpa, and the maximal pressure of pump case is 0.47Mpa.

Material of the pump case is HT200,height of material is 10~20. Strength σs=145MPa,working strength [σb]=48.33MPa.

See from above figure, while outlet pipe of shear pump been blocked, the maximal pressure arised from this is 0.47 Mpa. It is greatly less than the working strength of pump casing [σb]=48.33MPa.

In this regards, it can be concluded that, GNJQB series shear pump is completely safety while output pipe blocked.

Shear pump output pipe use 20# seamless steel tube. with tube thickness 7~8 mm. Yield strength of the tube is σs=245MPa,working strength [σb]=81.67MPa.

See from above figure, while outlet pipe of shear pump been blocked, the maximal pressure arised from this is 0.47 Mpa. It is greatly less than the working strength of pump casing [σb]=81.67MPa.
