Reloaded: GN 10,000 BBL Liquid Mud Plant Shipped to Africa

GN Solids Control is proud to announce the successful shipment of a 10,000 BBL liquid mud plant to Africa, marking another milestone in our global drilling fluid solution journey. This large-scale system is designed to support high-demand drilling operations while maintaining flexibility, transport efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

One of the key highlights of this project is its smart modular design. Instead of building oversized single units, the system is divided into multiple 750 BBL tanks. This “break-down” strategy significantly simplifies ocean transportation and on-site installation. It also reduces lifting challenges and allows the customer to adapt the layout based on available site space. In regions where logistics and infrastructure can be challenging, this modular approach provides a clear operational advantage.

Durability is another core strength of this mud plant. Each tank is treated with a specialized anti-corrosion coating, ensuring reliable performance under harsh drilling conditions. Whether the operation uses water-based mud or oil-based mud, the system is engineered to remain stable, resistant, and long-lasting. This directly extends service life and reduces maintenance frequency, lowering total operational cost.

To enhance efficiency on site, the plant integrates MCC control rooms and multiple pump skids into one coordinated system. Operators can monitor and control the entire process remotely, improving safety and reducing manual workload. This centralized control philosophy helps achieve smoother workflow and better real-time decision-making.

In addition, the system is equipped with an oil-based cuttings treatment unit, supporting operators in meeting strict environmental requirements. By minimizing waste impact and improving recycling capability, the plant ensures both productivity and compliance with modern environmental standards.

GN Solids Control continues to deliver full-chain drilling fluid solutions, including mud stations, solids control equipment, and cuttings treatment systems. This 10,000 BBL mud plant is not just a piece of equipment—it represents an integrated approach to efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible drilling operations worldwide.
