GN 500GPM Mud System used in Middle East for Water Injection Well Drilling
Many customers from Middle East come to GN asking for the mud system used in water well drilling. Some of these are used for civil water wells, while some of units are used in oilfield water injection well drilling. For some oil wells with large content of natural gas in oil layer or at the later period of extraction, the oil worker always inject water into the oil well to keep a stable pressure of the oil layer to ensure a high oil production rate.
One of GN’s customers from Middle East sent back the pictures of GN’s 500GPM mud system on their site. They just finished the commissioning of this unit and good remarks were given to GN. Different from the mud system for oil drilling, this water well mud system is designed compact structure so that it could be put on a trailer for easy moving from one site to another.
Below specifications of this water injection well drilling mud system
1. GN 3-Panel screens shale shaker for first stage solids separation, with screen area of 2.6 square meters, is used to remove the coarse drilling cuttings.
2. De-sander, de-silter and under located drying shaker composited 3-in-1 mud cleaner unit for sand and silt separation. Cyclone unit are full PU material, the quantities for 10 inch de-sander and 4 inch de-silter cyclone are respectively 1 and 8.
3. Three unit centrifugal pumps are equipped with 50HP electric motors. 2 of them are used to transfer drilling mud to cyclone unit, while the third one is for mud mixing hopper. To recommend same model pump would make it easier for future customer’s maintenance.
4. This unit also has independent tank compartment for mud mixing and storage.
5. Total power requested to run this 500GPM mud system is 126KW, the user could equip the engine accordingly as below pictures showing. Customer locally got the engine and put it on the trailer as the power source of the mud system.
In addition to water injection well drilling, this type compact mud system can also be used in HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling). For this type drilling, the driller need transfer the used drilling mud to the mud system. Just like the picture showing, the shale shaker is connected with a submersible slurry pump that will be installed in mud pit to do this job.
