Water Based Mud (WBM) is necessary material for oil & gas drilling. WBM is relatively simple and cheaper compared with OBM.  To lower down the production cost, we need OBM Recycling Unit to recycle and reuse the OBM. But for WBM, we just need to separate the water from the mud and make the mud dry and solidification. With help from drilling waste management service company, GN Solids Control continueously upgrade the design and develop one set WBM Drilling Cuttings Treatment Unit. With this unit, the customer can treat the WBM in a fast and high efficient way.

As this is compact unit, the user can move it easily and can use it for both onshore drilling rig and offshore drilling rig. . WBM Drilling Cuttings Treatment Unit is better for use especially for offshore drilling rig. After treated by this unit, the water can be discharged into sea direcly and the dry solids can be tranported to land for solidification.

General configuration of WBM Drilling Cuttings Treatment Unit

1) General WBM drilling waste management unit

General Working Procedure of WBM Drilling Cuttings Treatment Unit

This unit is working together with drilling, drilling waste mud pit is no need if you have GN Solids Control WBM Drilling Cuttings Treatment Unit.

Step 1:  the WBM driling cuttings discharged from solids control equipment (shale shaker, mud cleaner or desander & desilter), will be collected by 1 set horizontal screw conveyor; then transfer to another slope screw conveyor for feeding Hi-G drying Shaker.

Step 2: the WBM drilling cuttings will be dryed to about 20% OOC (oil on cuttings) under the High G Force vibration. After treated by Hi-G drying shaker, the solids can be mixed with some lime or cement for solidification, the liquid go to decanter centrifuge by feeding via screw pump.

Step 3:  After treated by decanter centrifuge, the solids can be mixed with some lime or cement for solidification, the liquid can go back to solids control mud tanks for reuse or go to dewatering unit for further treatment.

Step 4: After dewatering unit, the waste water PH value is adjusted to about 7 and can be disposed directly.
