The Drilling Cuttings EXTRACTOR Dryer receives drill cuttings from the Solids Control equipment via screw conveyor, vacuum system, and/or solids pump.Drill cuttings are fed into the centre of the feed cone and distributed evenly through feed holes by centrifugal action into the fl ighting channels between the scroll and the screen. As the drill cuttings pass through the conical screen, the solids layer becomes thinner and exposed to progressively more G-force.

The GN Vertical Cutting Extractor Dryer uses centrifugal force to dry drilled solids in oil or synthetic base fluids. A stainless steel screen bowl traps “wet” solids and accelerates them up 900RPM with G force up to 420. Liquid is forced through the screen bowl openings, while “dry” solids are extracted by the angled flights attached to the cone, which rotate slightly slower than the bowl. Tungsten carbide protects the flights from abrasive solids and ensures long operational life. This aids in maintaining a constant gap between the scroll and screen bowl, which is crucial for proper operation. EXTRACTOR Dryer is designed to remove NADF from drill cuttings exiting the shale shaker. The dryer is capable or reducing the oil on
cuttings to < 5% and to an overall total of < 6.9% when the centrifuge waste is taken into account. Excess fl uid is recovered after centrifugation
and returned to the active system for reuse. The system is not suitable for the treatment of water based mud cuttings.

1 set GN VFD decanter centrifuge and Hi G dryer used for recovering the drilling fluid from the waste drilling cuttings already started running on the jobsite which the project from Pertanima after commissioning by our technical person.

As per customer’s requirements, the equipments provided list below:

GNLW363VFD decanter centrifuge with tungsten carbide protection for screw propeller. The bowl speed adjustable from 0-3200RPM.
GNZS853 Hi G dryer with designed maximum vibration force to 8.0 G. Large screen area make sure the cuttings more drier for staying longer time on the screen.

n the design process of GNCD cuttings dryer, user maintenance is taken into full account. All wearing parts are easily removable belt can also be replaced without disassembling the gear box, and the gear box part can easily be removed.

Operation

A. All safety protection guards shall be installed before starting up. It is forbidden to open the guards of decanter centrifuge to observe the running state of the machines.

B. During the operation of the decanter centrifuge, touch to moving parts and rotation parts should be avoided.

C. It is forbidden to brake in any way before the decanter centrifuge is stopped.

D. If there is abnormal noise and vibration, close down decanter centrifuge immediately and make troubleshooting.

E. It is forbidden to have the decanter centrifuge running at the rotating speed out of active speed that indicated in the instruction and nameplate.

△Only after power is cut off can electrical devices be wired or plugged/unplugged!

Maintenance

A. Only after power is cut off and bowl stops completely running can the decanter centrifuge be dismantled and adjusted.

B. When opening the cover of collecting box, it should be opened sufficiently and be fixed to prevent the sudden closure of the cover and injure the operators.

Solids control system is very popular used in the oil and gas drilling, HDD and CBM drilling. For oil and gas drilling, in the past, the driller would dig a large pit on the groud to reserve the used drilling fluids. After the drilling cutting sedimented to the bottom of the mud pit, the upper lever drilling fluids would be reused. To some extent, this method could save some drilling fluids, but the enviromental harmful mud pit brought problems for the driller.

With the fast developing of the drilling industry, the traditional mud pit for solids control would not meet the driller’s request for quickly drilling, as the traditional mud pit solids control would cost much time to sediment the drilling cuttings.
